Have you ever felt like, no matter how hard you work, your money just slips through your fingers? Or you keep going through these cycles and hitting the same kind of roadblocks in your career, in your finances, or you find that relationships and money are stuck in a kind of loop. What if I told you that your relationship in your life, especially the toxic ones, do play a direct role in keeping you from success, wealth and your purpose, that purpose that you truly deserve to express in the world in your talents? Today, we're going to be diving into the hidden link between toxic relationships and money struggles because they are actually linked and how the people around you can shape your financial destiny, your mindset and your ability to step into prosperity, abundance. And let me tell you, it's not woo-woo, there's neuroscience, so let's get into it.
Speaker 1:My name's Dr Amonkhor, and everything I'm about to share with you is everything that I, too, have actually experienced. All right, so let's get real. The relationships in your life are either fueling your growth or draining your power. And here's the truth. Most people don't actually realise it. Your brain is wired to adapt to your environment around you, and this has happened from a young age, so you've been wired up to adapt to a certain environment around you and if you try and move out of that environment, you'll hit or you'll attract something that will get you back into your comfort zone again. So if you were surrounded by people who belittled you, manipulated you, kept you small, or your nervous system in survival mode, then you'll find that you will activate your fight and flight, no matter how much you try to overcome your thermometer, if you like. That was set at a young age, so you might attract toxic relationships or get into toxic type issues. Even though you might be really successful in your finances, everything else isn't so good, so you can't actually enjoy your financial success. So you can't actually enjoy your financial success. So our fight or flight response is activated, flooding our body with stress hormones like cortisol, and it actually keeps us locked into scarcity, fear and insecurity. And guess what? When your brain is in survival mode, it's literally shutting down your ability to think big, take risks, manifest opportunities. You're held back in other areas. So there's always this constant level of fight or flight or stress. Why? Because all of your energy is spent trying to survive.
Speaker 1:And here's something mind-blowing Research shows that chronic stress from toxic relationships actually shrinks your prefrontal cortex. That's the part of the brain responsible for decision making, problem solving, financial planning, and actually what that means is it strengthens your amygdala, the fear cycle, to keep you in a cycle of being in a struggle of some sort, be it financial, be it relationships, be it your health. Think about it for a second. If you've always been surrounded by negativity, doubt, control, it's just common sense really, we don't really need to look at neuroscience. But your brain actually loses its ability to create new pathways of abundance, prosperity, happiness, love. You start playing small and settling for less, thinking that you're not worthy of having more, and then you end up repeating the same type of mistakes over and over again, be it financial mistakes, to try and get love. So you give your money away to try and get love. It's not a coincidence, it's all programming. So toxic relationships aren't just about emotionally draining, they're actually blocking you from success at a neurological level.
Speaker 1:Now I know when I hear people say the word manifestation, they either get excited or they roll their eyes as if it's kind of woo-woo. But let's set the record straight Manifestation isn't magic. There is some neuroscience around it. Our brain is a computer and it's the way our brain is processing everything that is allowing us to take actions in certain ways. So your brain is constantly manifesting, whether you like it or not, but it's set a certain level. The decisions that you make, the people you attract, the financial patterns you repeat all stem from subconscious beliefs and the trauma that we've already experienced.
Speaker 1:Here's when it gets really powerful. Say, if you've been conditioned by toxic relationships to believe that you're not good enough, you're not worthy, you're not smart enough, or the money always is a struggle, you're not worthy of having money, that you can't be better than them, because obviously we go through cycles and we are conditioned to feel shame and guilt about having more than they have. They want to devalue you so they can feel better about themselves. Then your brain will seek out evidence that will make that true, even though you might not believe it to begin with. But just like toxic relationships can rewire your brain for scarcity and self-doubt, you can rewire it back for abundance and success, and it doesn't matter whether it was programmed from a young age. Your brain has the ability to change. That is a fact. You can change this. So step one is actually learning that you have to break the pattern. So step one is actually learning that. You have to break the pattern.
Speaker 1:First, you have to identify it where these toxic beliefs are coming from. Who is it that's maybe given you some of these beliefs? It might be one parent or both parents that have given you these beliefs around worthiness, around money. Who was it in your life that made you small or unworthy around having? Were you programmed in some way? Maybe you were programmed that women stay at home, men go out to work, so then you have these beliefs as a woman that, oh, I need someone to take care of me and you end up in toxic relationships with people and then they use that to control you. Or maybe you're the man and you believe you need to take responsibility and take care of everyone financially, and actually the people that you're attracting are toxic and they're trying to use you for money. What stories about money did you learn from these relationships and what kind of guilt and shame do you feel around success?
Speaker 1:The truth is, a lot of people have guilt and shame around success being the best version of themselves. There's this guilt around no, I can't be the best version of myself. I don't want to make other people look bad, and that happens sometimes and that's set up with siblings. If you were gifted, for instance, if you were someone that had a real gift, you might have been told by your parents, subconsciously or consciously don't make your other sibling feel bad. Step two you need to rewire your brain for wealth, for success.
Speaker 1:If you want to attract more money, more success, more prosperity or live your life aligned to your purpose, you have to train your brain to feel safe, to be in that space, to be in that kind of zone of being present, your level of presence or your zone of genius. So the way to actually rewire your subconscious is to look at what emotions are holding you back, because emotions and thoughts equals behavior, equals actions. That's what you do, every action you take. There's a thought and emotion that's driving it. So you need to look at what emotion and what thought has been generated in my brain, whether I believe it or not. So it could be guilt, it could be a thought that, oh, you're not good enough. It might not actually be true, but it's there, it's wired in, it's programmed in and what you have to do is find the program and then create a new program of what you want, moving forward. It's like embodying a new version of yourself and taking small daily actions aligned to that new belief, aligned to that new emotion. Now, one thing you can do is you can take action by booking in a one-to-one session with me. You can apply for a one-to-one session and you can see. Okay, what kind of therapy is it that you need to be able to release the emotions and to create the thought patterns to be able to create the life that you want? Here's what I want you to really take away from this episode.
Speaker 1:Toxic relationships actually create prisons within our own mind, even if you get away from them. Every time someone's made you feel unworthy, every time you absorbed that scarcity mindset that I have to be smaller just to keep the peace, I can't say what I want, I can't be or feel what I want. It's actually like laying down another brick that's keeping you small. It's actually like laying down another brick that's keeping you small, keeping you contained so that you don't fly, you don't grow, you don't connect with your superpower and fly out into the world and be who you want. Instead, you've got a prison that's been created, but the key is in your pocket. You. You can open the door, you can rewrite your story, and when you do that, you can stop surviving in that prison and you can start thriving. You go oh wow, I've got a superpower, I can fly and you can start flying.
Speaker 1:So here's my challenge for you today I want you to really start noticing the toxic beliefs that you have and the emotions that you have. Do not try and push them down, do not ignore them, because they just get bigger. Whatever you resist persists and it actually grows Instead, notice oh, this is how I've been programmed. I get it. I get it, and without judgment, but with love, with compassion, with understanding for yourself, acknowledge oh wow, that's been programmed into me. I get it now.
Speaker 1:I get why I've been doing what I've been doing. I get why I've been programmed to hold myself back, not to actually fulfill my purpose. I get why I don't feel like enjoying my life anymore because I just feel it doesn't matter. I don't matter. That's been programmed into me and I do something that brings you a bit more joy, because the programming isn't just a thought that's been programmed into you. Feelings have been programmed into you. It's like you've got to feel fear all the time. It's like you've got to feel stress all the time. That's been programmed into you. It's like I can't be happy and if I do feel happy, then something happens and then I go back into my program again. Well, that something happens is just telling you that you've been programmed into a certain zone, that you're not allowed to come out of that zone of what you feel, what you think, of what you can have, but actually you can have more. But it's about releasing those programs, of having to feel a certain way and having to think a certain way.
